Williams Direct Dryers Collaborating with Non-Profit: In Ian’s Boots

‘In Ian’s Boots,’ is a non-profit organization based in Pottstown, Pennsylvania providing clean boots and shoes for those who are under economic hardship.

In January 2010, young Ian Joshua Miller collided into a ski lift tower while sledding, causing traumatic brain injury which lead to his untimely death. Unfortunately, he was not wearing a helmet. Ian was only 12 years of age. By happenstance, doctors found a special message in Ian’s boot, a bible passage from James 1:2-4:

Typed neatly, on a piece of paper, it read:
‘Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.’

Ron Miller (Ian’s Father), founded ‘In Ian’s Boots,’ a non-profit organization to commemorate Ian’s active involvement with sports and giving back to the community. This entails collecting gently used footwear, cleaning, sanitizing, and distributing the footwear to those in need.

In late summer of 2013, Ron contacted Williams Direct Dryers inquiring about WDD’s drying systems and drying technology. He stated that the, In Ian’s Boots organization, cleans approximately 2000 pairs of footwear a week. Thus, was in need of a heavy-duty drying system built to dry mass amounts of walking shoes, and soccer cleats. Des Mayne, Managing Director of WDD understood the struggle of drying high volumes of footwear and determined that the W36CJ SportsDryer™ as the best choice for their needs – A commercial grade dryer, built to dry up to 36 pairs of footwear at any time. This dryer is capable of accommodating considerable pairs of shoes and satisfies the high turn around, drying demand. This is the same dryer MLS soccer club, the Vancouver Whitecaps use at their National Soccer Training Centre at the University of British Columbia.  SportsDryer™ eliminates health risks as it aids in sanitizing footwear with WDD’s Direct Drying Technology™.  Des firmly believes, ‘In Ian’s Boots’ purpose and mission. Therefore, initiated an arrangement that WDD would help with cost of this dryer. “In Ian’s Boots, offers a meaningful service to the needs of those who face challenging times. Williams Direct Dryers were pleased to tender to their cause.”
